🥍 RAE Sixes Lacrosse — Youth Game Rules
Format: Fast, fun, and focused on Respect • Attitude • Effort - every player can control the RAE Mindset.
⚙️ Game Overview

Teams: 6 players (5 field + 1 goalie)

Field Size: Truncated
-
Duration: 2 × 12-minute halves (or 24-minute games, depending on roster size)

Clock: Running time throughout

Restart: Face-off/draw only at the start of each half
🔄 Gameplay
-
After a goal → Goalie clears immediately (no face-off/draw)
-
Substitutions: On-the-fly through the sub box
-
Shot Clock: 30 seconds (starts when offense crosses midline – for older youth)

No Offsides: All players play both ends — promotes conditioning and creativity
-
2-Pass Rule: If a team leads by 5+ goals, offense must complete 2 passes on offensive side before shooting

Girls – The 8-Meter Rule (“No Camping Zone”):
-
Defenders can’t stand inside the 8-meter arc unless within a stick’s length (3 yards) of an offensive player.
-
Violation = 3 seconds → free position shot for the offense.

Must clear within 5 seconds

No contact with goalie or inside the crease

Turnover if attacker steps into the crease

Boys: stick or gloves only

⚡ Scoring & Penalties

Each goal = 1 point

Boys: 30-second penalty (man-down). Starts as soon as player reaches the penalty box.

Girls: No time served → Free position shot at 8-meter

Set-up: 1 shooter + 2 defenders; all others outside arc
